Spring Vendor Sale benefitting the Ryan Hotel Park Project

Support the Ryan Hotel Park Project – a community initiative in the village of Blanchardville to build a “pocket park” in the former Silver Dollar Saloon location on the village’s Main Street. Lots of vendors, raffles, and food will be available and all profits will go directly to the Blanchardville Community Pride, Inc. to assist in their efforts to make this park a reality.

Pool is Closed

The swimming pool at McKellar Park is now closed for the 2012 season. The pool will reopen Memorial Day weekend 2013. Thanks for your support of our local hometown pool.

UW-Extension has provided some links for Wisconsin residents for information on the drought conditions. Share this post or let people know about these resources that are available.
http://ready.wi.gov/ This is the Wisconsin Emergency Management’s one-stop place for information related to all aspects of the drought.
http://farmertofarmer.uwex.edu/ At this online marketplace, farmers in short supply of hay, forage and corn supplies can get help. There’s also a new feature on that site, which Cooperative Extension just created, to help drought-stricken farmers move their livestock to literally greener pastures.

And, last but certainly not least, is the UW-Extension Drought 2012 website http://fyi.uwex.edu/drought2012/ which is a comprehensive and incredible resource. You can sign up to get their updates.
